Man injured in house fire pulled to safety by strangers

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 8, 2014) — Two passersby helped save a man from a house fire Saturday evening.

Just after 5 p.m.  Michael Wilson and Nathan Burch of Indianapolis were driving down the street and saw smoke coming from a home in the 5200 block of west Caven Street stopped to help.

The two forced their way into the home and found a man lying on the floor and pulled him out of the house.

Wayne Township Fire crews were called to the scene and were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes.

The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
