ELYRIA, Ohio (Feb. 19, 2014) – An Ohio kitten may have used one of his nine lives after a woman found him frozen at the side of an Ohio road.

The woman originally thought the kitten—now named “Frosty”—was a chunk of ice at the side of the road. She had a gut feeling, and took a closer look, leading her to find that “chunk of ice” was a kitten that was covered in ice and couldn’t move. She said the kitten began meowing as soon as she approached him, according to WJW in Cleveland.

She took the kitten to an animal shelter and named him Frosty. He’s recovering well but has a severe respiratory infection that needs antibiotics.

Frosty is expected to go up for adoption as long as he continues to improve. The animal shelter has already received several calls from families hoping to adopt him.
