INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 24, 2014) – A convicted sex offender faces a voyeurism charge after police say he used a cell phone to spy on a 9-year-old boy in a bathroom.

On Sunday afternoon, an officer was dispatched to Hollyhock Hill Restaurant at 8110 N. College Avenue. When the officer arrived, a 9-year-old boy said he was in a bathroom stall when he noticed a cell phone slip in through a crack. The boy pushed the phone away but someone slipped it back through.

While leaving the bathroom to tell his father and uncle what happened, the boy noticed a man—later identified as Robert Gasho, an employee at the restaurant—standing at a urinal next to the stall. When the boy’s father and uncle entered the bathroom, they found Gasho in the stall with his cell phone.

The uncle took the phone and found “different pictures of pornography” on it, according to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The phone was turned over to the officer, who ran a check on Gasho and discovered he was on parole as a registered sex offender.

Gasho was arrested on a voyeurism charge, a class D felony. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department said Gasho had been previously compliant with the sex offender registry.
