Traffic stop results in seizure of marijuana, Ecstasy

JACKSON COUNTY (Feb. 24, 2014): An Illinois man ended up in an Indiana jail on drug charges after a state trooper pulled him over for a traffic violation.

Around noon, a state trooper stopped a 2013 Hyundai for a minor traffic violation on I-65 southbound near mile marker 50. While talking to the driver, the trooper became suspicious and searched the car.

He found 11 bags of marijuana totaling more than 100 grams, 19 Ecstasy pills and paraphernalia.

The driver, Louie Malley, 30, Orland Park. Ill., was taken to the Jackson County Jail. Charges against him include dealing in marijuana (over 30 grams), possession of marijuana (Over 30 grams), and possession of a schedule I controlled substance, all class D felonies.
