Funeral arrangements set for family killed in fire

INDIANAPOLIS (March 3, 2014) – A family of six killed last month in a house fire on the east side will be laid to rest this week.

Final funeral arrangements have been made for the Guerra family. On Feb. 22, a fire swept through the home at 2179 N. Olney St. Leo and Brandy Guerra, 47 and 33, respectively, died along with their four children, Miranda, 14; Esteban, 11; Blanquita, 8; and Fuentes, 6.  Two of the children survived at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health until the next day, when they were taken off ventilators.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at New Wineskin Ministries Central, 4501 W. 38th St., Indianapolis. Funerals for all six family members will follow on Friday. The Guerras will be interred at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Ave., Indianapolis.
