Top DJ Hardwell to headline Indy 500 Snake Pit party

INDIANAPOLIS (March 3, 2014) – World-class DJs will headline one of the biggest parties during the Indianapolis 500.

Race organizers announced Monday that Hardwell—ranked the world’s No. 1 DJ in the 2013 DJ Mag Top 100 poll—will headline the party in the Snake Pit presented by Miller Lite on Sunday, May 25 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rising star DJs NERVO and Dillon Francis will also perform.

Snake Pit music and festivities start at 7 a.m. on race day and continue through the end of the race inside Turn 3 of the massive IMS infield. Other attractions include volleyball, corn hole, body painting, food trucks, hula hoops, break dancing, the world’s largest inflatable slide and more.

Hardwell—real name Robbert van de Corput—owns the leading electronic dance music label Revealed Recordings. He’s also the youngest DJ ever to win the coveted Top 100 DJs award. The Netherlands native has a string of worldwide hits, including six consecutive No. 1 hits on the Beatport Top 100. He also performed at Coachella 2013 and the 2013 Ultra Music Festival. His performances have millions of YouTube views.

NERVO—a DJ duo consisting of Australian sisters Mim and Liv Nervo—started out as songwriters, hitting it big in 2009 after co-writing the global hit “When Love Takes Over” for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. They wrote for Ke$ha, Kylie Minogue and Armin Van Buuren before focusing on their own careers as performers.

Dillon Francis is a Los Angeles-based electronic music producer and DJ. He’s collaborated with several artists including , Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, Diplo, A-Trak, Zedd, Madeon, Flux Pavilion, Jack Beats, Digitalism, Chuckie and Kill The Noise.

Snake Pit tickets are available for purchase for all Indianapolis 500 ticket holders. Race fans can also get VIP tickets offering admission to the Serpent Lounge featuring amenities such as entry to the Rattle Zone offering front of the stage access, flat screen televisions with live race coverage, a private cash bar, air conditioned restrooms and access to food trucks and viewing mounds.

Race officials said Cobra Cabanas will return this year offering parties where up to 10 people can enjoy their own area of the cabana deck overlooking the crowd. For more information, visit www.indy500snakepit.com.
