Man, woman seriously injured after being struck in Broad Ripple

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 5, 2014) – A man and woman were seriously injured after being struck by a drunk driver in Broad Ripple Tuesday night.

According to a witness, a woman was driving her car down North College Avenue when two pedestrians ran across the street. The car hit both of them.

When police arrived on scene, bystanders were assisting the two victims. The man was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain; the woman went to Eskenazi Hospital with a broken tibula and fibula.

The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.
