Scene of crash

Around 6:45 a.m., a woman and her son came out of the house near Stop 11 Road and Sherman Drive to find the car.

The driver, who was identified as 30-year-old Christina Welsh, was still behind the wheel. She said she was OK and so were the children in the car with her. She said she just “had to get back to work,” and then took off, backing through the hole in the fence and leaving her bumper behind.

The woman who lives in the house called police.

Welsh was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, neglect of a dependent, leaving the scene of a crash and public intoxication.
