INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 8, 2014) — Two men are behind bars who detectives believe are responsible for a series of robberies in Broad Ripple.

In the evening of Friday March 7th and the morning hours of Saturday March 8th, three separate robberies were reported; all involving similar described silver SUV.

A fourth robbery was reported in the 6400 block of Cornell Avenue, again involving a silver SUV.

However witnesses were able to provide a detailed description which allowed detectives to identify a silver SUV suspect vehicle.

Detectives in the area noticed a silver SUV matching the suspect vehicle, parked with three males inside.

As the vehicle was getting ready to leave, police cars pulled in front of the vehicle, to prevent it from leaving.

Officers with the assistance of robbery detectives took two 17 year-olds and an 18 year-old, later identified as Gabriel Leschat of Indianapolis, into custody.

Police found four pellet guns and several ski masks, which are believed to be used in the robberies, in the vehicle.

Two of the guns had a rifle like appearance which is consistent with what the robbery victim’s described.

After questioning the three, it was determined that one of the 17 year-olds was not involved.
