AUSTIN, Ind. (March 15, 2014) — Indiana State troopers arrested a man for drugs after a traffic stop in Scott County.
On Friday evening, James Barnett, 33, from Austin was stopped by State troopers for an expired license plates and for driving left of center.
During the stop, police found a syringe and other paraphernalia in plain view of the passenger floorboard of the truck.
A search of the vehicle resulted in troopers arresting Barnett and his passenger, Lindsay Cole, 30, from Austin.
Barnett has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated.
Cole was arrested on charges of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
