WEST LAFAYETTE – Matt Painter hinted late in the 2014 season that changes may be coming to the Purdue basketball program moving forward after the team’s last-place finish.
One of those players has decided to make a change less than 48 hours after the Boilermakers’ final game of the season.
On Saturday Purdue announced that Johnson has asked for and been granted a release from the program and will transfer to another school.
“Ronnie has expressed his interest in transferring from our program and we have granted him his release,” Painter said in a release through the school. “We wish Ronnie the best of luck as he continues to pursue his education and basketball career.”
