Three teenagers in serious condition after crash involving school bus

INDIANAPOLIS (March 17, 2014) – A Washington Township school bus and several vehicles were involved in a crash in Monday morning.

The crash happened before 7 a.m. at the intersection of 65th Street and Keystone Avenue. The other vehicles involved are a Nissan Juke and a Chevrolet HHR. A gray minivan was also involved, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

No students were on the school bus at the time. Witnesses said the bus turned in front of the HHR, resulting in the crash. Three teenagers were taken to St. Vincent in serious condition after being pulled out of the HHR; IFD said the extrication took about 15 minutes. The 28-year-old driver was transported to the hospital in good condition.

Others involved in the crash were treated at the scene and released. The bus driver was not hurt, according to IFD.
