CARMEL, Ind. (March 22, 2014) — A father and son who were pulled from an early morning house fire on Auman Drive in Carmel on Thursday have passed away.

James Shiel and his son Andy, 2, died early Saturday morning.

Both had been hospitalized after the house fire.

According to family members, James Shiel was able to donate his heart, pancreas, liver and kidneys to individuals in need.

Fire investigators believe pinched electrical wires behind a desk may have caused the fire to ignite curtain and spread through part of the house.

There were no smoke detectors found in this house, according to Division Chief Bruce Knott, Fire Marshal for the Carmel Fire Department.
