INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 22, 2014) — Hundreds of young athletes took to the hardwood in Indianapolis today to take part in the 2014 Special Olympics Indiana State Youth Basketball Tournament.

This year’s event included more than forty teams competing in junior and senior divisions, a big increase from past events.

It’s the fifth year students from the University of Indianapolis partnered with the Special Olympics to host the tournament.

Unlike many tournaments, every player goes home a winner.

The youth tournament featured participants ages eight to 21.

The men’s tournament included those 22 years old and older and was held at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
