Average wedding costs $30K, according to new survey

(March 31, 2014) – If you’re planning on getting married soon, you should know wedding costs are hitting record levels.

According to a survey from wedding website TheKnot.com, the average wedding cost $30,000 last year. The website surveyed 13,000 brides and grooms across the country, citing statistics ranging from location fees to tuxedo rentals.

The website said wedding budgets have grown for the last two years, with the average cost of a wedding in 2013 up five percent from the year before.

The most expensive place to wed, by the way, was Manhattan, where weddings cost more than $86,000 on average.
