Delaware Co. couple arrested after selling cyanide, drugs

MUNCIE, Ind. (April 9, 2014)– A couple in Delaware Co. have been arrested after selling drugs and cyanide to an undercover police detective.

It started with a tip that Joseph Jones Jr., 42, had access to sodium cyanide and intentions to harm others. Police confirmed that Jones, through his work at a metal plating plant, had access to sodium cyanide.

The transaction took place in the 900 block of E. Charles St. in late February.

A detective was able to buy cyanide from Jones for $100, supplied by the sheriff’s office.

While the detective was there, he was able to also buy a three pills from Jones’ girlfriend, Amanda Jean Drown, 38, for $18.  The pills were identified as Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride (Percocet).

Joseph Jones Jr. was arrested for theft, a class “D” Felony.

Amanda Drown is charged with dealing a controlled substance, a class “B” Felony.
