Martinsville police, school officials investigate rumor of sexual misconduct

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (April 14, 2014)— Martinsville police and school district officials are investigating a rumor of sexual misconduct at Martinsville High School.

“The safety and security of our students is our number one priority. To that end a rumor that surfaced last Friday at Martinsville High School of sexual misconduct involving a student was handled immediately by school district officials. Child Protective Services was contacted as was the Martinsville Police Dept.,” read a statement in part sent by MSD of Martinsville.

The school district’s communications advisor said the school and authorities are working together to determine if there is any validity to the rumor.

There are no charges at this time.
