(April 16, 2014) – Eight-year-old Logan Bledsoe thought he was part of a halftime contest at Monday’s Phoenix Suns game.

He ended up being part of something much better.

The team brought together Logan and his father, Jamie, who is a specialist for the California National Guard. He’d been stationed in Afghanistan for nine months.

Logan thought he was part of the halftime entertainment at the game and donned a blindfold as part of the “contest.” He was shocked when he heard his father’s voice and found him standing in front of him. The two embraced as the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

The reunion was organized by the “Welcome Home Hero” program.
