Remains of missing kayaker found in river

COLUMBUS (April 21, 2014) – The body of a missing kayaker has been found in the Flat Rock River, according to conservation officers.

Monday afternoon, a passerby found a shoe under a tree about 150 yards where Enrique Quinonez disappeared. The person called Department of Natural Resources authorities, and the man’s body was located and removed from the water around 3 p.m.

Quinonez, 27, Kalamazoo, Mich., had been kayaking with a friend when he disappeared on April 6. Authorities spent several days searching for him.

Family members have been notified and an autopsy will be performed.
