INDIANAPOLIS (April 21, 2014) – A scholarship will honor an Indianapolis man shot to death during a morning walk earlier this month.

The scholarship through the North Allegheny Foundation in Pittsburgh has been established in memory of Nathan Trapuzzano. The award will go to a high school senior with a passion for music and learning, a good work ethic and commitment to church and community. Those are attributes that mirror those of Trapuzzano, organizers said.

Teachers will nominate potential recipients; Trapuzzano’s friends and family will choose the winner.

Organizers hope to make the scholarship an annual award. Anyone who wants to contribute should send a check to the North Allegheny Foundation, 200 Hillvue Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Make sure to put “Nathan Trapuzzano Memorial Scholarship” in the memo line.
