Going to the Grand Prix? A few things you need to know

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 10, 2014) — Going to the inaugural Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? Here are some things to know:



  • Tickets for the inaugural Grand Prix are still available!
  • Prices range from $25-$77
  • Parking starts at $20

  • Front-row parking spaces are available for $125 each
  • General parking spaces available for $50 each
  • No motor homes or RVs are permitted

  • Allowed: Coolers (restricted to no larger than 18”x14”x14), food & beverages, lawn chairs, scanners, cameras – for a full list, click here
  • Not allowed: Weapons, fireworks, golf carts, glass containers, illegal drugs – for a full list, click here


  • Tailgating is permitted in Turn 3, as well as:
    • Lot 7 (North 40)
    • Inside Turn 3
    • Lot 1B
    • Lot 1C
    • Lot 2
    • Lot 3 Grass
  • Grilling is allowed on small portable grills. No dumping of charcoal or ashes is allowed
  • Portable shelters (i.e. EZ Up shelters) no larger than 10 feet by 10 feet are allowed in designated tailgating areas

  • Pre-race events start at 3:30
  • The inaugural Grand Prix starts at 3:50 and goes for 82 laps
