Rain chances linger this morning for parts of Central Indiana as a cold front has stalled over our southern counties. The rain chance for Indianapolis and the Grand Prix of Indianapolis will still be small today but you may want to pack the rain gear just in case. Highs today will see a big gap with highs in Indianapolis likely hitting the upper 70s.
The best news is that the severe risk is now over even as a small rain chance lingers. It appears most places will be dry today but several models including the GFS, Euro
and Nam continue to show the city receiving about a tenth of an inch of rain throughout the day. Adding fuel to the model data fire is the fact that it appears that this front is already beginning to move north over area this afternoon. *Sigh* not an easy forecast at all… I am sticking to an isolated chance for rain south of I-70 and dry for all other parts. This means IMS should be dry throughout the day today.
Mother’s Day is still looking warm with highs surging into the 80s by the end of the afternoon. There is still a scattered chance for rain for Sunday but the day will not be a washout. Most of the day should be dry.
The upcoming work week will be a rainy one with rain and storms possible both Wednesday and Thursday. Severe weather isn’t too much of a concern right now but that could certainly change as we get more solid information on the set-up.
