ANDERSON, Ind. (May 10, 2014) — Anderson fire crews had a busy Saturday morning after a fire broke out at Advanced Magnesium Alloys Corporation (AMACOR).

The fire was discovered by an employee just after 8AM. It was located in a pit on site.

Since factory employees are trained in fire emergencies, they initially fought the fire with salt.

HazMat crews were called to the scene to test air samples, which tested at safe levels.

At 11AM, the fire was contained. Crews remained on scene to continue to smother flames.
