(May 15, 2014) – Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson are about to throw down.

FOX will air an hour-long crossover episode in September in which characters from The Simpsons and Family Guy will interact, executives revealed this week. The shows have a rivalry of sorts that includes inside gags and occasionally pointed barbs.

Short clips teased by the network paired Bart with Stewie and showed Homer and Peter fighting each other.

According to Mashable, the episode will pair Lisa and Meg as they search for something Meg is actually good at. Marge and Lois will team up to escape the craziness of domestic life.

FOX also revealed a new Simpsons app that will stream all 552 episodes of the classic animated show in partnership with the FX Networks, which signed a syndication deal last year giving it cable rights to the show.
