What’s happening at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 16, 2014)—Practice for the Indianapolis 500 continues at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday.

Friday’s schedule includes:

  • 10 a.m.: Gates open
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: IMS Midway
  • 12 p.m.-6 p.m.: Indy 500 practice
  • 6 p.m.: Gates close
  • 6:15 p.m.: Qualifying draw

Saturday, drivers will race to qualify for the Indy 500. Schedule of events follows:

  • 7 a.m.: gates open
  • 8 a.m.-8:30 a.m.: Indy 500 practice group 1
  • 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m.: Indy 500 practice group 2
  • 9 a.m.-11 a.m.: Indy 500 practice
  • 9 a.m.-6 p.m.: IMS Midway
  • 9 a.m.-6 p.m.: IMS Kids Zone opens
  • 10 a.m.-11 a.m.: Chevy pin distribution
  • 11 a.m.-5:50 p.m.: Indy 500 qualifying
  • 2 p.m.: “LIVE” concert at Pagoda Plaza Stage
  • 6 p.m.: Gates close
