Girl, 6, shot in arm on city’s far east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 23, 2014)– Police dispatch confirms that a 6-year-old was shot on the city’s far east side.

The shooting occurred in the 10600 block of E. 30th St., near German Church Rd.

The young girl and her father were at the Willow Glen Apartments complex visiting one of the father’s friends.  The child went into a back room and found the gun and fired it. The shot hit her in the arm. The shot also injured her hand.

The 6-year-old girl was taken to Riley Hospital for Children.
