Holiday Weekend

Go fast and turn left this weekend! The forecast is looking great!

The weather for this weekend is going to be boring, just how we like it for a holiday weekend.  It’s the most important weekend of the year for Indianapolis and the weather will be some of the best of the year!

Yesterday we hit 73 degrees with winds coming in out of the north northwest.  Winds will be out of the southeast throughout the day today and should allow us to see high temperatures rolling back into the upper 70s.  It should be mostly clear today with humidity levels remaining low.  This means the weather will feel pleasant as you step out the door.

For Legends Day the gates at IMS open at 8am.  The IPL Festival Parade starts at high noon and there will be plenty of sunshine.  Temperatures for the start of the parade

The 500 parade’s weather will remain nice

should be near 70 degrees.  The 98th running of the Indianapolis 500 starts at 12:12 on Sunday and the weather should be nearly as nice as today.  Dew points (or the measure of moisture at the surface) will be ticking up.  This means it won’t feel as comfortable as you are heading to the track.  Sunday highs will be near 80 degrees.

Memorial Day is all of a sudden looking wet with a chance for rain throughout the day as a warm front lifts through.  A couple of storms with the potential for large hail will be possible during the afternoon.
