Man seriously injured after motorcycle flips on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 25, 2014) — A man was rushed to the hospital late Saturday night after crashing his motorcycle.

Police say the man was headed east on Washington Street near Holt Road around 11:30 p.m., when an oncoming car turned in front of him. He slammed on the brakes to keep from hitting the car, but lost control and the motorcycle flipped, throwing him off.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was unconscious when he was taken to Eskenazi. No one else was injured.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
