IMPD investigates double fatal shooting on north side

INDIANAPOLIS (May 29, 2014) – Indianapolis Metropolitan police were investigating a shooting on the north side Thursday afternoon that left two people dead.

Officers were dispatched to the area near West 31st Street and North Graceland Avenue around 1:45 p.m. According to IMPD, officers found both men in a silver car; the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver died at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Police said the men were shot in an alley in the 3100 block of North Graceland near 32nd Street. After the shooting, the driver took off south in the alley and eventually crashed into a tree.
