Indianapolis makes nation’s top 50 fittest cities

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 29, 2014) – Indianapolis has made another top 50 list–this time for fitness.

The American College of Sports Medicine recently unveiled its seventh annual American Fitness Index™ (AFI) data report.

The 2014 AFI data report, “Health and Community Fitness Status of the 50 Largest Metropolitan Areas,” looks at preventive health behaviors, levels of chronic disease conditions and policies that support physical activity.

Cities are then ranked by points from 0 to 100.

The Indianapolis metro area scored 32 out of 100 and ranks 47th.

Washington, D.C. got the top spot with a score of 77.
