Two found shot, one dead in alley on city’s north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 9, 2014) – Two people were found shot and one person is dead after an incident on the city’s north side Monday night.

IMPD responded to the 3000 block of Winthrop Ave  around 10:36 p.m. on a report of a person lying in the alley.

Upon arrival, officers found two unidentified males suffering from gunshot wounds.

One male was unresponsive and declared dead at the scene.

The other males was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.

At this time detectives believe that the both men were possibly involved in an illegal gambling game just prior to the shooting.

The Marion-Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency is processing the crime scene and the Marion County Coroner’s Office is processing the deceased.
