INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 9, 2014)–Two teenagers from Franklin Community High School remained in critical condition as of Monday morning following a swimming accident Friday.

Sarah McLevish and Michael Chadbourne were pulled from the Big Blue River in Edinburgh Friday after swimming with three other friends. DNR investigators said McLevish got swept away in the water near the dam and another friend, 17-year-old Jason Moran, went in to help her. Moran disappeared under the water. DNR crews found his body Sunday morning.

Both McLevish and Chadbourne were unconscious when pulled from the water Friday and received CPR.

According to McLevish’s sister’s Twitter account, the 16-year-old was showing signs of progress Saturday. The update read, “She’s getting better everyone thank you for your prayers.”

Sunday evening, several of the group’s friends and loved ones tied blue ribbons around Franklin to honor Moran and to show support for the recovery of McLevish and Chadbourne.

Visitation for Jason Moran will be Wednesday at the Franklin Community High School gymnasium from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
