FRANKLIN (June 12, 2014)  – The calling for a Franklin Community High School student will be held Friday in the school’s gymnasium.

Michael Chadbourne died after diving into the Big Blue River to save a friend. He and four others—Jason Moran, Trent Crabb, Mark Nally and Sarah McLevish—were swimming when McLevish went over the dam.

Crabb and Nally made it out safely and helped McLevish and Chadbourne out of the water. Divers found Moran’s body in the river Sunday. Chadbourne remained in critical condition at IU Health Methodist Hospital until he died Monday. His organs were donated. McLevish was in critical condition Thursday, according to hospital officials.

The calling for Chadbourne will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Franklin Community High School gymnasium. A memorial service will take place at 7 p.m.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Franklin’s St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
