Person in custody after Columbus shooting, police search for gun

COLUMBUS (June 17, 2014) – Columbus police have a person in custody following a Monday night shooting—but they’re still looking for the gun used in the incident.

Police responded to the 1200 block of 8th Street Monday at 9:05 p.m. after receiving a report of a person shot. They found a 20-year-old man shot in the neck. He was treated at Columbus Regional Hospital before being airlifted to an Indianapolis-area facility

Police said the gun may have been discarded in the general area of the shooting. They’re asking residents to be on the lookout for a small-caliber gun.
