Suspect in custody, facing charges after jail wagon is stolen

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (June 18, 2014)– One person was arrested Wednesday night after a police vehicle was taken.

A jail wagon was stolen from a church parking lot in the 900 block of N. Wallace Wednesday night, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

IMPD responded to the 600 block of Wallace Ave. on a tip around 8:30 p.m. and apprehended the suspect.

The jail wagon was recovered. There were no prisoners in the vehicle when it was stolen.

The suspect is charged with theft, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
