INDIANAPOLIS (June 19, 2014) – Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay faces an Aug. 28 trial on two misdemeanor charges related to his March arrest.
Irsay waived an initial hearing. He faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in his body.
Hamilton County Superior Court also set a pretrial date of July 28.
Irsay was arrested after an officer saw him driving erratically in Carmel on March 16. A blood test showed he had prescription drugs in his system, and investigators found a pill bottles in his vehicle. The arrest report said Irsay exhibited poor manual dexterity, slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and unsteady balance after being pulled over.
He faces up to 60 days in jail. His driver’s license has been suspended after he failed to submit to a blood test during the traffic stop.
