Well one intrepid chef seems to have upped the ante – why simply add bacon when you can turn something into bacon?!
When firing up the grill this Fourth of July weekend toss your burgers on one of these babies – a 100% bacon bun!
The evil genius behind this culinary revelation is Clint Cantwell.
Clint said he was tired of ordering bacon on his burger and only ending up with a few slices.
You may say he sort of over-corrected.
The bun is made from approximately three pounds of bacon that has been shaped in to two 4-4 1/2-inch wide disks.
The bun is cooked on the grill over medium heat until most of the fat has been rendered out and the bun is nicely crisped.
Some people may be concerned about how healthy it is, but Clint likes to add that it’s gluten-free and has zero carbs!
