AVON, Ind. (July 3, 2014) — Avon police are looking for a serial robber who may be connected to business burglaries in other parts of central Indiana.

In the early morning hours of June 29, Avon police detectives began investigating eight businesses that were burglarized. Evidence at the scene connected them to Anthony Wayne Reed, 53, of Indianapolis.

Businesses that police say he hit include a dentist’s office, a financial investment firm and an OB/GYN. Police say money seemed to be what Reed was after, as well as some electronics.

They say privateĀ information about patients and employees was not compromised.

Police say he’s calm, and seems to know what he’s doing. That’s because they say Reed has done this before. He was stopped by Carmel police for a traffic violation in December 2013, and detectives found some stolen electronics in his car. Detectives eventually figured out they were connected to burglaries in Noblesville.

Westfield police think he may be connected to a number of crimes there, but won’t say anything more than that because they are under investigation.

If you know where Anthony Reed is, you can call the Avon police department or submit an anonymous tip through Central Indiana Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS
