ELLETTSVILLE (July 10, 2014) – Two people died after a Thursday morning fire in Monroe County, and investigators suspect foul play.

According to Capt. Troy Thomas from the Monroe Co. Sheriff’s Department, the fire was reported before 9 a.m. at 7300 block of North Red Hill Road in response to a house fire.

Family and neighbors told first responders it was “more than just a house fire,” Thomas said.

Investigators have not identified the victims, but neighbors said a mother and teenage son were in the home. Autopsies were scheduled for Friday morning.

Thomas said police were not looking for any suspects in connection with the fire.
