INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 10 , 2014) – An INDOT truck was hit by a hit and run driver early Thursday morning.

The accident occurred on I-65 southbound at the 117.1 mile marker.

According to state police, INDOT crews had the right two lanes in the area blocked off for road construction.

There was an INDOT truck with a flashing sign directing drivers to go into the left lanes.

At about 2:30 a.m., a man in a pickup truck disregarded the “move over” sign, and he ran into the back of the INDOT truck.

The driver of the vehicle then got out of the truck, jumped over the side wall, and fled west bound on foot.

Police are searching for the driver.

No one was injured.
