INDIANAPOLIS -- It's been one of the roughest weeks in a long time for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the central Indiana community after Officer Perry Renn died defending the city last weekend.

"Obviously there’s been a lot of violence lately and we felt, what can we take that we already do well that allows us to give back?" said Gabe Peters.

Peters and his team run Ink The Cause, a site that gives people a way to raise money for causes by easily designing and selling t-shirts.

After thinking for a few days, they came up with an Indy Strong shirt design. The navy blue shirt went on sale Thursday.

It's $15.95 and all proceeds go to the Fraternal Order of Police to help families of injured and fallen officers.

"There are a lot of people not happy about what's going on lately, so hopefully people get behind the campaign and raise some funds for the FOP," said Peters.

The shirts will be available for purchase online here until July 25th, 2014. The shirts will be printed and mailed once the sale closes.

Ink The Cause hopes to sell 10,000 shirts.
