A 13-year-old boy escaped serious injury Thursday night after a car which he was inside was stolen.

IMPD says the vehicle was stolen from an Admiral gas station in the 9100 block of East 21st Street on the east side around 7:30 p.m.  They say the juvenile either jumped out or was dropped off near 21st and Post Road.  He was checked out at Riley but did not suffer serious injuries.

After the juvenile left the vehicle, police say the suspect got on I-70 and headed east at a high rate of speed.  He exited at Mt. Comfort Road, lost control of the car, and crashed.  He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
