Truck spills pile of wood near tracks after collision with train on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (July 10, 2014) – A train and a semi truck collided Thursday morning on the east side of Indianapolis.

It happened just before 11 a.m. at Massachusetts Avenue and North Olney Street.

No injuries were reported, and dispatchers told FOX59 there was minor property damage. The truck spilled a pile of wood near the tracks.

Investigators said the truck driver thought he could make it across the tracks in time, but the train clipped his vehicle.

Officials called for barricades for the streets after the crash.
