INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 12, 2014) A man was beaten and robbed in Broad Ripple early Saturday morning.

He told police he was walking in the 6300 block of North College Avenue when four men walked past him. One man punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.  The group demanded cash, then they told the man to get up and walk away.

Police were out keeping a closer eye on the area with heightened patrols. And they were also prepared to shut down streets if necessary. The new protocol comes after a shooting last weekend that left seven people hurt including one person in critical condition.

It’s sad that one can’t take a walk, sit on their porch or at a barbcue, without being punched, jumped, slapped or shot and or killed. This has got to stop but the only way it can calm down is that the true believers need to come together, pray together. This city/nation/world need for the wailing women to take the stand and mourn for the people. I’m challenging all sistas’ to stop being afraid and come wail for the communities!

How about a description of the thugs? Are we trying to be politically correct here? This crime is one more reason for law-abiding citizens to arm themselves.

Keep these thugs and attitude OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD! You can’t act like a decent person, don’t go blaming anyone else when you get told to leave.

Downtown and the IMPD have allowed a situation to fester in Broad Ripple they would have never allowed Downtown or on Mass Ave. Now they’ve lost complete control of the streets. Reap the whirlwind.

It’s young black people and it’s a black cultural issue that no leaders in the black community want to speak about. Our black leaders are too worried about civil rights that they have forgotten about morals and human rights. These kids have no fathers and black people think it’s “normal” to have a child and let a single mother raise him and struggle. If I see a group of young black people, I walk accross the street or I get my guard up. And no I am not racist, I am black myself.

it’s sad, but it’s funny that IMPD Cameras did not work… Police should focus in crimes, not in traffic stops.
