Suspect in custody for deadly Marion shooting

MARION, Ind. (July 12, 2014) — Marion police have one suspect in custody after a deadly Saturday morning shooting.

Police say they received a 911 hangup call and responded to 816 McClure St. to investigate. When they arrived, nobody answered the door at the address. A few minutes later, they received a call from a man saying his brother had dropped off a child and told him a woman had been shot at the McClure Street location. When officers returned to McClure Street they made entry into the home and found the victim, 46-year-old Shelly Hudson, in one of the bedrooms. She appeared to have been shot in the head. Police also found a 6-year-old girl at the home, she was unharmed.

The suspect, 39-year-old Christopher Rennaker, turned himself in at the Marion Police Department and has been arrested for murder. He is currently a the Grant County Jail.
