SHERIDAN, Ind. (July 13, 2014) — The Sheridan community is looking for answers after a fire tore through one of the city’s oldest buildings in downtown.

The blaze started just after 6 p.m. Saturday night and kept crews busy all night.

Firefighters from several departments fought the flames into the morning and were eventually able to contain the hot spots and flare ups.

The fire destroyed the power mail building and the owner’s top floor home.

It is unclear what started the fire.
