Rain and storms possible today
We are under a severe risk for today. Storms will develop along cold front late morning hours through afternoon. At this point they really could slide risk area south of Indy. Series of cold fronts will continue to slide through until tomorrow. The one passes through this morning, one passes through around midnight tonight, another on Monday late afternoon into the evening (About 7p for indy) and finally the arrival of upper low/polar vortex (great discussions online about if it’s accurate to call this “polar vortex” by the way) arrival on Tuesday morning. Together this will all come together for some very cool weather Tuesday and Wednesday. If you read my blog post yesterday you won’t be surprised that they slid Monday’s risk south. I kinda said they would…. ; )
Highs today I think still reach the low 80s behind this morning’s front. Temperatures will be challenged this morning as the fronts continue to bring the state a steady diet of cool air on northerly winds. We are forecasting a Monday high of 83 degrees. The lack of rain should allow us to see highs a degree warmer than today’s forecast high in spite of a couple of fronts passing through. The much discussed upper low arrives on Tuesday morning. Light drizzle and clouds should mean an even milder day than what we were overall expecting to see. We are forecasting highs in the low 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday should see highs in the upper 70s and overall Thursday could be the best day of the week. Next weekend should start off really nice with Friday highs hitting 80 and low 80s for Saturday with mostly clear skies.
