Minkler named acting U.S. attorney after Hogsett’s resignation

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 1, 2014) – Joe Hogsett’s former assistant will assume his duties as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.

Josh J. Minkler, 51, is now acting U.S. attorney. He served as the first assistant under Hogsett, who announced his resignation last month.

Minkler was the drug unit chief and served as an assistant U.S. attorney responsible for prosecuting drug, violent crime and public corruption cases.

He graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 1988 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Wabash College in 1985.

Joe H. Vaughn will succeed Minkler as first assistant U.S. attorney. Vaughn previously served as the criminal chief.
