INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 9, 2014) — Two people are dead and another person is in the hospital, after a car crash on the city’s northeast side late Saturday night.

It happened around 10:25 p.m.  on Fall Creek Road, near Sand Key Lane. That’s near the Geist Reservoir right on the Marion and Hamilton County line.

Police say a woman driving a Cadillac south on Fall Creek Road, crossed the center line right at the Sand Key intersection, striking a northbound Ford Explorer with a family inside.

The driver of the Explorer and a backseat passenger were pronounced dead on the scene. The front seat passenger was taken to the hospital in serious condition. All were adults.

The driver of the Cadillac was taken to the hospital in good condition.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Fall Creek southbound lanes were blocked at Mollenkopf Road immediately after the crash.
