Bloomington police seek car in connection with armed robbery at check cashing business

BLOOMINGTON (Aug. 14, 2014) – Bloomington police are investigating an armed robbery this week at a check cashing business.

The department posted information about the theft on its Facebook page. According to Bloomington police, the robbery happened Monday afternoon at the Check Into Cash in the Walnut Park shopping area. The vehicle involved in the robbery was a blue, two-door Chevrolet Cavalier. Investigators released surveillance photos of the getaway car.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s standing about 5’7” tall. He entered the store and demanded money. Police said the clerk gave him some cash, and the man got into the Cavalier. The driver of the car was a white male in a baseball hat.

According to the Bloomington Herald-Times, this is the second time the business has been robbed this summer. On June 5, a black man wearing a mask entered the business with a handgun and demanded money.
